  1. STOCKARD Says:
Despite his dislike for the 5-string, Tony Rice is one of the greatest musicians to ever grace bluegrass. He was right, however, to protest Crowe's decision to add a drummer. I'm saddened by Tony's unfortunate condition affecting his voice. I celebrate all of his work... Keep on pickin' Tony!!
  2. Jakobah Says:
words can't describe how good this is one of the best tunes I have heard in my life, oh yer and along with tony rice's blackberry blossom, how amazing your are!!!! i wish we had more singers and players like you.. now we have rap, which ok can be quite talented, but not as talented as you, i can listen to this all day!
  3. Duante Says:
    AMEN!
  4. Joeanne Says:
What a great song! One of my favorite Tony covers. That's some serious right hand skill.
  5. EDMUND Says:
Simple music for simple minded people. LOL. LONG LIVE IGNORANT SHEEP...
  6. Brice Says:
Perfection is simplicity. A man and his guitar - no more. He's under-rated. He's a freakin ICON!
  7. Mickey Says:
Instead of "uptown" in line 1, it should have read "out of town". Apart from that, however, you R word perfect !!!! Thanks 4 taking the time to jot the lyrics down 4 all of us to enjoy... Just luv this song. Merry Xmas to you allisterfine1.
  8. Alaine Says:
And I got myself a rocking chair to see if I can lose, These thin dime, hard time, hell on Church Street Blues. And I wish I had some guitar strings, the old black diamond brand, Id string up this old Martin box and go and join some band. But I guess Im going to stay right here, and pick and sing a while, And try and make me a little change and give you folks a smile.
  9. JAFARI Says:
And I got myself a rocking chair to see if I can lose, These thin dime, hard time, hell on Church Street Blues. I found myself a picker friend, and I read yesterdays news, I folded up page twenty one and I stuck it in my shoe. I gave me a nickel to the poor, my good turn for the day, I folded up my old bill fold and I threw it far away.
  10. WINFIELD Says:
Well Ive been hanging out uptown, Lordy in that low down rain, Watching good time Charlie, friend, is driving me insane. Up on shady Charlotte street, Lord the green lights look red, I wish Is back up on the farm, Lord in my feather bed.
  11. Marily Says:
enlarged soundhole(cause clarence white played with a quarter and he tore apart the edge of the soundhole so it was enlarged)...and a gretsch fingerboard...slick and fast
  12. Leonore Says:
Also, thats the Clarence White D-28. Look at that soundhole!!
  13. Madolen Says:
Cancer? He doesn't have cancer. If you are referring to his throat problem its some type of sever laryngitis. He could recover from it and talk and sing normally if he wanted to. He said he doesn't feel like taking the time to go to rehab cause he'd rather play than sing anyway. There is still a chance it could heal anyway.
  14. Mazel Says:
Is this his D-14, or 28?
  15. Ethelred Says:
    Simply BEAUTIFUL!
  16. Hugiherahta Says:

  18. Haley Says:
how bad has his cancer gotten?

  22. Graent Says:
This guy makes me warm and fuzzy on the inside.
  23. Madolen Says:
Found this quite by chance...and boy am I glad that I did. Amazing guitar playing & great singing. Simply a faultless performance of a great song. TR rocks !!!!!
  24. Jeffrey Says:
Hah, a guy who used to play with Tony said the exact same thing to me yesterday night.
  25. Rutledge Says:
I'll bet Kenny Chesney can't do this...
