Grimes Requests Jailtime; Will Not Pay Fine for Saving Dog

I, Tammy Grimes, founder of Dogs Deserve Better, am requesting jailtime for my actions in saving a dog who lay dying in the backyard of a Pennsylvania home. I will not pay a fine, for I will not pay the salaries of those who, either by their actions or their inactions, condone and accept animal cruelty. As I uploaded this video February 12, 2008, it was 4 degrees outside. This is for all the dogs dying in the cold that we will never know about today. I am sorry your caretakers consider you nothing but garbage, and therefore let you outside to freeze to death. It breaks my heart.

Olyan esetekről, amiknél ha csak egy kicsit is jobban odafigyeltek volna, most nem a sírban vagy egy börtöncellában lennének. Rengeteg ember hal meg az utakon. És a mai világban kell az, hogy felhívják a figyelmet a veszélyekre. De mindez mit sem ér, amíg nem érezzük át, amíg velünk vagy a szeretteinkkel nem történik hasonló borzalom. De akkor már késő... Olyan ostobaságnak tűnő dolgokon múlhat egy ember élete. Például nem tűnik logikus dolognak, hogy ha valaki iszik az nem ül volán mögé? Vagy hogy a biztonsági övet bekötjük, amint beszállunk az autóba? Álmosan, fáradtan nem felgyorsítani kéne, hogy minél előbb odaérj, ahova szeretnél, hanem kicsit megállni, pihenni. Ezek olyan dolgok, amik bár ésszerűnek, mégsem gondolnak rá az emberek. Amikor meg már bekövetkezett a tragédia már késő.. Gondolj kicsit a szeretteidre is. Ha a saját életedet nem tartod annyira értékesnek, hogy vigyázz magadra, legalább azokra gondolj akiket veszélybe sodorhatsz. És gondolj arra, milyen érzésekkel állna a családod, barátaid, szerelmed a kórházi ágyad vagy még rosszabb esetben a koporsód fölött...
