The Martyrdom of St. John the Baptist Feast: August 29 ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST was called by God to be the forerunner of His divine Son. In order to preserve his innocence spotless, and to improve the extraordinary graces which he had received, he was directed by the Holy Ghost to lead an austere and contemplative life in the wilderness, in the continual exercises of devout prayer and penance, from his infancy till he was thirty years of age. At this age the faithful minister began to discharge his mission. Clothed with the weeds of penance, be announced to all men the obligation they lay under of washing away their iniquities with the tears of sincere compunction; and proclaimed the Messias, Who was then coming to make His appearance among them. He was received by the people as the true herald of the Most High God, and his voice was, as it were, a trumpet sounding from heaven to summon all men to avert the divine judgments, and to prepare themselves to reap the benefit of Vie mercy that was offered them. The tetrarch Herod Antipas having, in defiance of all laws divine and human, married Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip, who was yet living, St. John the Baptist boldly reprehended the tetrarch and his accomplice for so scandalous an incest and adultery, and Herod, urged on by lust and anger, cast the Saint into prison. About a year after St. John had been made a prisoner, Herod gave a splendid entertainment to the nobility of Galilee. Salome, a daughter of Herodias by her lawful husband, pleased Herod by her dancing, insomuch that he promised her to grant whatever she asked. On this, Salome consulted with her mother what to ask. Herodias instructed her daughter to demand the death of John the Baptist, and persuaded the young damsel to make it part of her petition that the head of the prisoner should be forthwith brought to her in a dish. This strange request startled the tyrant himself; he assented, however, and sent a soldier of his guard to behead the Saint in prison, with an order to bring his head in a charger and present it to Salome, who delivered it to her mother. St. Jerome relates that the furious Herodias made it her inhuman pastime to prick the sacred tongue with a bodkin. Thus died the great forerunner of our blessed Saviour, about two years and three months after his entrance upon his public ministry, about a year before the death of our blessed Redeemer.

Did you imagine for a moment when you will be alone in... (((((((((((((()))))))))))))))) (((((((Your Grave?))))))) (((((((((((((()))))))))))))))) Don't you know that you will die? And that you will be in a grave? Don't you know that you will be judged for what you say and what you do? Prophet Muhammad said that "On the Day of Resurrection the feet of the son of Adam [man] will not move away till he is questioned about four matters: how he spent his lifetime, how he spent his youth; from where he acquired his wealth and how he spent it, and what he did with his knowledge." Did you not read the saying of Allah: (فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسْأَلَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِيْنَ عَمَّا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ) Which means: (By your lord, we shall ask them all what they have been doing) Brother.. Sister .. is it not about time for you to stand and think about yourself and your life? Have you thought of what you have done and what you have brought for your after death? The door of repentance is still open.. O slave of Allah.. rush and repent.. repent to Allah... Don't let desires mock your bright intellect, which Allah, the lord of the worlds, gave you.. O slave of Allah.. rush and ask Allah for forgiveness.. Rush before death.. and repent to Allah and stay steadfast to your religion.. for, our life is the life of Islam, whomever is ignorant about it, is mislead and lost.. Did you not read the saying of our Prophet: "The strong is not the one who overcomes the people by his strength, but the strong is the one who controls himself while in anger". The strong is not the one who gathers people around him, and he is arrogant with the slaves of Allah.. If you were strong, you would protect yourself by learning the Islamic knowledge and preserved your organs from any unlawful doing.. Allah Subhanahu said: (ثُمَّ قَسَتْ قُلُوبُكُم مِّن بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ فَهِيَ كَالْحِجَارَةِ أَوْ أَشَدُّ قَسْوَةً) (وَإِنَّ مِنَ الْحِجَارَةِ لَمَا يَتَفَجَّرُ مِنْهُ الأَنْهَارُ وَإِنَّ مِنْهَا لَمَا يَشَّقَّقُ فَيَخْرُجُ مِنْهُ الْمَاء وَإِنَّ مِنْهَا لَمَا يَهْبِطُ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللهِ) This Ayah means: {Then even after that your hearts hardened so that they became like rocks,- rather worse in hardness, and surely there are rocks out of which gush forth streams and truly there are others which when split up, water then comes out it and indeed there are others which fall down for fear of Allah}. O slave of Allah, know That whether you wore the silk and the gold and silver.. or if you wore ripped and the patched clothes.. you are still who you are.. yourself did not change.. You are still yourself.. Why not, when you know surely that your end will be in a .. [[[[[[[[[[[[[]]]]]]]]]]]] [[[[[[ Shroud! ]]]]]] [[[[[[[[[[[[[]]]]]]]]]]]] Rush brother.. rush to a repentance to Allah, for, the door is open right in front of you.. Don't let the damned devil fool you and lead to your torture.. Say to yourself, o self, I want for you Paradise.. don't drag me towards Hellfire.. Allah said: (وَمَا اللهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ) which means {And Allah is NOT unaware as to what you do} Brother, you have to rush to acquire the Islam knowledge and increase from it.. Fearing God is what benefits in this life.. that is Obedience to Allah.. And among Obedience is to learn what Allah made obligatory upon us so that we obey him properly.. The door is open, what's stopping you from repenting? Overcome the damned devil, repent to Allah, and rush to the sessions of Islamic knowledge. And remember that the messenger of Allah said: التائب من الذنب كمن لا ذنب له That "The one who sincerely repents form his sins, will be as the one who has no sins". O Allah, we have wronged ourselves severely, forgive our sins and grant us a good ending as true believers, and accept our Repentance. It's haunting and beautiful i think. Do yourself a favor and go have a listen to her other work. On Therefore Repent! Been thinking of making a trailer for the book for a while, and this seemed to be perfect for it! I like this first attempt quite abit, the simple visual device works well for me. But I'm going to use this as a rough example to see if i cant get a motion graphics artist to make a real go of it. Let me know what you think!
