Swami Vivekananda - Dharma, Seva, Ahimsa DHARMA, DOVERE Dare una definizione oggettiva di dovere è assolutamente impossibile. Tuttavia cè un dovere dal lato soggettivo. Qualsiasi azione che ci fa andare verso Dio, è una buona azione e nostro dovere; qualsiasi azione che ci allontana da Dio, è male e non è nostro dovere. Svolgendo bene il dovere che ci è più vicino, il dovere che è nelle nostre mani adesso, noi rendiamo noi stessi più forti; e migliorando noi stessi in questo modo, passo dopo passo, possiamo anche raggiungere uno stadio in cui sarà nostro privilegio fare i doveri più ambiti e onorati nella vita e nella società. Nessun uomo può occupare a lungo in modo soddisfacente una posizione per la quale non è adatto. Non cè utilità nel lamentarsi contro laggiustamento della natura. Chi fa il lavoro più basso non è per questo un uomo inferiore. Nessun uomo deve essere giudicato per la natura dei suoi doveri; ma dovrebbe essere giudicato dal modo e dallo spirito in cui li svolge. È il lavoratore attaccato ai risultati che si lamenta sulla natura del dovere che gli è toccato in sorte; per il lavoratore non-attaccato tutti i doveri sono ugualmente buoni e formano validi strumenti con cui legoismo e la sensualità possono essere distrutti e la libertà dello spirito raggiunta. Il dovere è raramente dolce. E solo quando lamore unge le ruote che tutto scorre agevolmente; altrimenti è una continua frizione. Come altrimenti potrebbero i genitori fare il loro dovere verso i propri figli, i mariti verso le mogli, e viceversa? Non vediamo casi di frizione ogni giorno nelle nostre vite? Il dovere è dolce solo attraverso lamore. Il dovere, come viene comunemente compreso, per noi diviene una malattia; ci trascina sempre avanti. Ci afferra e rende la nostra vita miserevole. È il veleno della vita umana. Questidea di dovere è come il sole di un mezzogiorno destate; brucia lo spirito più interiore dellumanità. Guardate quei poveri schiavi del dovere! Il dovere non lascia loro tempo per dire le preghiere, e nemmeno per fare il bagno. Il dovere è sempre su di loro. Escono e vanno al lavoro-il dovere è su di loro! Tornano a casa e pensano al lavoro del giorno dopo-il dovere è su di loro! È un vivere una vita da schiavo, e alla fine crollare in strada e morire nella bardatura, come un cavallo. Questo è il dovere come viene compreso. Il solo vero dovere è essere non-attaccati e lavorare come creature libere, lasciando tutti i frutti del lavoro a Dio. Resurrected EV1 discussion at SEVA Meeting p2

Part 2of2 Of the original 1115 GM EV1s only 40 or so still exist. These were severely disabled by GM and given to universities and museums. A few more may still exist as part of GM's fool cell research projects. In Early December of 2007 one of them was resurrected, making its first public appearance Dec 8th at Renewable L.A., and then a few days later at the Seattle chapter of the Electric Auto Association's monthly meeting on December 11th. The 1997 PbA (Lead Acid) EV1 was reanimated by university faculty, students, EV Bones, and Pv's donated Tech2 scanner! Mike, a retired instructor made sure to mention that the car was a part of their ongoing Hybrid project as GM stipulated that the EV1 must not be used as an EV as part of their agreement when donating it to the school.
